JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTING MANAGER
NON-EXEMPT
JOB SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Accounting Director, this position completes accounting responsibilities and assists individuals supported by performing financial responsibilities which includes Social Security and Medicaid benefits, monthly audits on individual and program accounts and completes monthly billing for assigned caseload.

Complete paperwork and electronic documentation as required to meet Danville, federal, and state regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to:
•    Incident Reports
•    Timecards/Paid Time Off Requests

Perform administrative duties and financial tasks to assist individuals supported with eligibility and payment including:
•    Medicaid yearly redeterminations and as requested
•    Social Security yearly redeterminations and as requested
•    Monthly billing and correspondence for Nevada's Aging and Disability Services (ADSD)/ Regional Center and Public Guardians
•    Monthly representative payee services
•    Deposits and disbursements as needed
•    Maintain finances according to Medicaid requirements
•    Monthly and as needed audits and scheduling of individuals supported personal spending.
•    Monitor and update individuals supported assets inventory and warranties.
•    Perform yearly and/or as needed individuals supported asset audits
•    Monitor, audit and distribute weekly grocery purchases
•    Report concerns related to finances, budgets, processes, assets, and groceries to supervisor immediately
 •    Monitor and update contracts and related spreadsheets
•    Communicate changes with QIDPs (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals) and others when applicable
•    Monitor facility cash accounts
•    Maintain eligibility to individuals supported contracted through the State of Nevada's ADSD
•    Update Administrative Assistant on changes to the program and contact list guided by the Accounting Director
•    Scan/audit scanning of financial information

Complete financial tasks for program staff to include:
•    Complete financial procedure training with new management
•    Monitor need for and provide receipts of training
•    May intervene with supports when necessary to provide proper health assurances and proper home safety

Maintain and expand skills and knowledge relevant to providing high quality support and services to individuals supported. Successfully complete the required pre-service and on-going training requirements within Danville and state required timeframes and meet the region-required competency levels. Training that needs to be completed may include, but is not limited to:
•    New Hire Orientation
•    Staff meetings
•    Recertifications
•    Additional training per year as required or as scheduled

Provide support and learning opportunities for the Las Vegas Administrative Assistant

Hire and manage employees consistent with Danville's culture, mission, values, Danville policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
•    Manage the hiring process for open positions compliant with policy and federal, state and local laws and regulations, conduct interviews with qualified applicants, and, where applicable, coordinate and implement new employee orientation.
•    Engage in management practices that retain high performing employees, including participation in the
Check-in process.
•    Identifying and resolving employee conflicts, policy violations, poor job performance, and coordinating and implementing corrective action as needed.
•    Ensure employees understand their job responsibilities and expectations through training
•    Identifying and recognizing employees with above average job performance.

Have flexibility with respect to hours of work and changing conditions. Report to work on time, and if unable to report to work, or if there is a need to come to work late or leave early, follow Danville's approval protocols.
Requirements may include, but are not limited to:
•    Notify your supervisor by telephone (not voicemail or text message) when you first anticipate not being able to work, or
•    Notify your supervisor by telephone no less than 2 hours prior to the start of shift if you are going to be
 unable to work or are going to be late.
•    Get prior approval before leaving early from your regularly scheduled shift.
•    Complete time records accurately and submit them on time with documentation if required.

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Support with Danville issued electronic devices to include but not limited to email.
•    Maintain RTC paratransit eligibility, renewals, and monthly orders
•    Monthly grocery orders and implementation
•    Process accounts payable transactions and requests positive pay as needed
•    Monitor and perform monthly balancing of accounts related to but not limited to individuals supported receivables and room and board
•    Monitor program specific services to include but not limited to IT requests and support, pest control, landscape, water, and other related services.
•    Weekly 24hr log audit and review

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
•    High school diploma, or equivalent.
•    Basic accounting and auditing background
•    Knowledge of bank reconciliations
•    Knowledge of Medicaid and Social Security benefits
•    At least two years' experience working in an office setting

Additional Requirements
•    Required to pass a thorough background check upon hire and maintained throughout employment
•    Must be 21 years or older
•    Ability to meet state and company driving requirements to meet minimal driving on company time

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
•    Basic fluency in oral and written English
•    For safety and continuity of care, must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and persons supported.
•    Basic keyboarding and computer skills

Special Skills/Training/Certifications
•    Current First aid/ CPR required
•    SOAR training preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

1.    Physical Requirements:
•    Repetitive manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
•    Ability to use all office equipment.
•    Lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
•    Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit, and walk for periods of time.
•    Perform life-saving techniques, e.g., CPR.
•    May be required to drive personal vehicles and company vans.

2.    Visual, hearing, and communication requirements:
•    Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, with or without reasonable accommodation.
•    Must be able to tolerate extended periods of time looking at a computer monitor in an office setting
•    Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English.

3.    Work location:
•    Home-like and office settings with varying degrees of background noise.
•    The possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens exists if universal precautions are not followed.
•    May require working under stressful conditions, and handling emergencies.
•    There will be pressure at times to meet scheduled appointments and deadlines and manage crisis situations.
•    This position will interact with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and may be frail or confused and/or have the potential for verbal or physical aggression.
